Welcome to Transfer Registration at UHC! We are glad to have you as part of the Holy Cross community. The University experience can vary from one institution to the other, and we realize it can also be a little frustrating for those who do not feel adequately prepared for the transition. Registering for classes, instituting financial aid, university regulations, even academic expectations of professors are not the same for every university. Your UHC faculty, staff, and administration are here help get you off on the right start, and do what it take to help you meet your ultimate goal: GRADUATION!

As a transfer student, your Registration session is especially designed to ease your transition from your previous institution to the Holy Cross experience. We will provide you with a series of opportunities to acclimate you to the educational and student life experience at UHC.

Freshmen and Transfer Registration and Parent Orientation sessions are coordinated through your Department of Admissions & Student Affairs. We work hard to make sure you have everything in place to complete orientation and registration for the day. It is the student's responsibility to make sure he/she is officially admitted into a degree-seeking program before attending Registration. If you have any questions or concerns about whether you are admitted, or if any of your information has changed, please contact the admissions department at, or 504-398-2175.

University Essentials

During the general presentation, we will provide you with an overview of university essentials to not only help you succeed, but to also thrive during your time as a student here. You will: Get information on financial aid opportunities that will help you pay for school; learn how students who are involved in clubs, organizations, and sports tend to be happier and graduate; get info about the technology offered to support your education; find out about FREE tutoring services and other academic assistance; get instructions on activating ADA accommodations for those with disabilities; and much more!

Get Advised

A big part of Transfer Registration is getting advised. You will have the opportunity to meet with your academic advisor, who will help you pick out which classes to take, and develop your schedule for the semester. We also encourage you to stay in contact with your advisor regularly as a student, to make sure you are on the right track in satisfying the requirements in your program's curriculum.

Register for Classes

After meeting with your academic advisor, you will then register for your classes. This will be done before you leave for the day. Please, note that for future semesters, you will take advantage of Early Registration, which allows you to have first choice of available classes! We strongly encourage students to use their Self Service accounts, and take advantage of Early Registration.

Pay for Classes

Our Bursar team is available to assist you in paying for the classes for which you have registered.

Financial Aid Advising

Students receiving financial aid will the opportunity to meet one on one with their assigned financial aid counselor. You will learn about the status of your FAFSA, scholarship, or other aid, as well as any outstanding documents you need to submit in order to complete the award process. All students who are expecting to receive Financial Aid at UHC should contact the Financial Aid office before Registration to ensure all documents have been received. They can be reached at 504-398-2133.

IT/Self Service

Technology is an essential part of being a student at UHC. Our IT (Information Technology) team will be on hand for the day to provide you with your Self Service login information, help you set up your UHC email accounts, and answer any technology-related questions you may have about the University.
