The Passing of Blaine S. Kern
UHC News | Saturday, June 27, 2020
New Orleans - Blaine Kern was a strong pillar in the New Orleans community, especially for Algiers, and here at the University of Holy Cross. For the past half century, Blaine has been a generous supporter of UHC, and in 1990, the University of Holy Cross dedicated our library in Blaine’s honor, naming it the Blaine S. Kern Library.
This visionary was a tireless and passionate cheerleader for the Mission of the Marianites who founded the University of Holy Cross just 8 years before he was born in Algiers. Mr. Mardi Gras’s leadership, his tremendous contributions, passionate spirit, and his creative genius will be missed by the entire UHC family.
