Michaela Hartline

Michaela Hartline is the Associate Chair of Counseling and an Associate Professor of Counseling at the University of Holy Cross. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), LPC Board-Approved Supervisor, National Certified Counselor (NCC), and TeleMental Health Certified provider in Louisiana. Dr. Hartline joined the University of Holy Cross as an Assistant Professor of Counseling in Fall 2019 after serving as an adjunct instructor for three years. Since then, she has distinguished herself through excellence earning the University of Holy Cross Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year Award in 2025. A frequent presenter at local, regional, and national conferences, Dr. Hartline shares her expertise on topics including clinical supervision, counselor education, gatekeeping, and legal and ethical issues involving minors. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she sees clients at a private counseling practice, working primarily with adolescents and couples. Dr. Hartline is actively involved in faculty and student leadership at the University of Holy Cross. She serves as Faculty Moderator for Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Human Subjects Protection Review Committee, Faculty Assembly Secretary, and chairs and serves on dissertation committees within the university's counseling doctoral program.
