The University of Holy Cross is a Ministry of the Marianites of Holy Cross, a Catholic congregation of women dedicated to service in the name of Jesus. Even after nearly a century of existence, UHC is still guided by their beliefs and approach to life.

One of the core beliefs of the Marianites is that it is the University's commitment
to enlighten the "whole person," which means educating both the heart and the mind.
We are proud that our students leave UHC with not only the knowledge and skills needed
to succeed in their career, but also an understanding of the importance of Christian
values in their lives. Because our graduates know true success comes through service
to others, you will find UHC alumni volunteering their time, giving back to the community
and serving in their church. In the tradition of the Marianites, we are excited that
our graduates, students, faculty, and staff are taking leading roles in the rebuilding
and revitalization of New Orleans.
