We hosted our 27th Annual Prayer Breakfast in our Moreau Center with over 240 attendees
for our Keynote Speaker: Kevin Avin ‘93. His message was simple: Prayer changes everything.
Thank you to all of our attendees and Sponsors!
UHC was well represented at the recent Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES) Conference in Denver. ACES is the national association for faculty members in counseling graduate programs throughout the United States. In addition to attending and presenting sessions, UHC representatives participated in the first ever Doctoral Program Fair at the conference to promote our on-line Master’s and PhD programs. Pictured here are Dr. Pat Thomas, Associate Professor of Counseling, Dr. Joey Pistorius, UHC alum and Director of Catholic Counseling Services for the Archdiocese of N.O., and Ebony Clifton and Susan Pham, current PhD students at UHC. Other UHC doctoral graduates who are now teaching in graduate counseling programs also attended the conference including Dr. Alex Becnel (Kansas State University), Dr. James McGinn (Eastern Kentucky University), and Dr. Stephanie Robinson (University of North Carolina Pembroke).

Essay question: Fr. Basile Moreau’s vision in his treatise Christian Education emphasized
nurturing the hearts of young individuals and fostering a positive connection with
their faith. How did your experience with the Family of Holy Cross (Priests, Brothers,
Marianites of Holy Cross) form your heart, develop your faith, and transform your
life to make you the person you are today?
As a component of the commemorative activities honoring the 175th Anniversary of the
presence of the Holy Cross Family – Brothers, Priests, Marianite Sisters – in Louisiana,
you are invited to share your reflections on the impact that Holy Cross has had on
your life. We will select 175 essays for publication that most meaningfully convey
the ways in which the teachings and principles of the Holy Cross Priests, Brothers
and/or Marianite Sisters have played a transformative role in your life. Essays should
be limited to 500 words and should be sent to legacy@marianites.org by 12/31/23. Approvals to publish will be requested from authors whose essays are
selected
