Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment

Opportunities for qualified high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit!

Are you ready?

Dual Enrollment programs are increasingly being offered across the country to help qualified high school students earn college credits. Dual Enrollment credits give students a head start and better preparation for academic success.  Participating students save valuable time and money on their college educations.

UHC welcomes students from all high schools, including public, private, parochial, home schooled and charter schools throughout the region.  Public high school students attend tuition-free through funding from the Louisiana Course Choice/Supplemental  Program.  Private high school students receive deep discounts from the University of Holy Cross.  Up to eleven credit hours may be taken per semester. Courses may be delivered face-to-face, on high school campuses by credentialed UHC instructors or online.

Dual enrollment students are usually high school juniors and seniors participating in academic courses. However, interested student may enroll when the student, the high school, and UHC all agree that the student is ready and eligible to enroll.  All enrollees must have approval from their high school guidance counselors and a cumulative minimum high school GPA of 2.5.  Public high schoolers must be college ready.  Students attending private high schools in need of developmental support may enroll in ENG100, REA100, MAT99, MAT100A, or MAT100B.

In the 2022-2023 Academic Year, UHC shall abide by Louisiana State Board of Regents Academic Affairs Policy 2.22, which offers alternatives to the traditional requirement of providing an ACT score, as indicated below.

In lieu of test scores, students are also permitted to enroll in dual enrollment courses based on high school counselor recommendations determined by overall student performance and grade trends in the subject.
