Carolyn C. White, Ph.D., LPC-S, LMFT, NCC Dean of the College of Counseling, Education, and Business Chair of the Department of Counseling and Behavioral Counseling Dr. Carolyn White is Dean of Counseling, Education, and Business, and Chair of Counseling and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Holy Cross. She came to the University of Holy Cross (UHC) in 1998 as an adjunct instructor in Counseling and Psychology and was hired as a full-time assistant professor in 2002 and currently holds the rank of Professor of Counseling. Dr. White received both her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of New Orleans. Her dissertation research was on the benefits of group counseling for high functioning Alzheimer’s patients. Her interests of study include gerontology, sexual trauma, supervision, and qualitative research. Since coming to UHC, she has taught courses in undergraduate counseling, psychology, and graduate courses in the master’s and doctoral programs in counseling. She chairs and serves on dissertation committees of doctoral students in counseling. Dr. White is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), LPC Board approved Supervisor in Louisiana, and a National Certified Counseling (NCC). She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Louisiana Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, the Southern Association of Counselor Education and Supervision, the Louisiana Association of Counselor Education and Supervision, and the National Honor Society of Chi Sigma Iota (Alpha Zeta Chapter at UHC). Dr. White has presented at both local and national counseling conferences on various topics including qualitative research, group counseling, gerontological counseling, and sexual trauma.
