Law and Ethics in Counseling Conference
This annual conference is held each year in the French Quarter in New Orleans and features updates for counselors in the areas of law and ethics. Prominent scholars provide keynote presentations and practicing counselors with expertise and experience in legal and ethical issues share their experiences. Participants and speakers have the opportunity to attend the conference either in-person or virtually through Zoom sessions. Participants may continue to earn continuing education hours in for a month after the conference has ended by viewing recorded sessions.

Clinical Counselor Supervision
Workshops that include 25-hours of clinical supervision are offered twice annually on weekends. To be approved by the LPC board as an LPC-S, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana must have been practicing counseling a minimum of 3 years after licensure and must have completed supervision training within 5 years of application for board-approved supervision. This training program was designed to meet the requirements for supervision training. Any LPC, PLPC, graduate of a counseling graduate program, or counseling graduate student who plans to apply for the LPC-S designation in the next 5 years is eligible to complete this training.

All sessions for the 25-hour supervision training will be taught by counselors who hold the LPC-S designation in Louisiana. After an initial one-hour orientation on a Thursday from 5:30-6:30 pm, each training session will be held by Zoom on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm (Central Time Zone). Participants will receive 25 continuing education hours that have been approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). The cost for the 25-hour workshop series is $330.

Learn with Dr. Gerald Corey
Each fall and spring semester, Dr. Gerald Corey offers afternoon workshops on Zoom from 2:00-5:30 pm Central Time Zone on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Dr. Corey is the leading author of counseling textbooks in the United States. Practicing counselors can earn 3.5 continuing education hours for each afternoon workshop attended.
