Freshman Admission Requirements

Applicants may be accepted to the freshman class based on the completion or expected completion of high school work, a state approved home-school program, or a General Education Development diploma. At the time of enrollment, however, the applicant must have graduated from an accredited secondary school, completed a recognized homeschool program, or received a General Education Development diploma & transcript with the requirement of “passed”.

Admission will be granted to any entering freshman who meets all the following criteria:

  • Completion of an admissions application online
  • High school cumulative GPA must be a minimum of 2.5 or higher at graduation
    • Submit an official transcript or diploma if graduated 10 years or more; a state approved homeschool program; or official state approved General Education Development program (GED);
      • GED must indicated pass on transcript

Probationary Admission 

Probationary admission will be granted to any entering freshman who meets the following criteria:

  • High school cumulative GPA of 2.0 - 2.49 at graduation

Denial process: Any applicant who does not meet the admissions requirements will be denied admission to the University. The applicant may decide to request an Appeal to the Vice President of Admissions & Financial Aid by submitting a 1-page letter stating why the applicant should be granted admission to the University. Denials appeals are reviewed, and decisions are made by the Office of Admissions & Recruitment Standard Committee.

Home Schooled Admission 

Home schooled students will follow the same admission requirements as first-time freshmen, with additional supporting documents from an accredited homeschool program of studies that has been recognized by the State Board of Education.

GED Admission 

GED students will follow the same admission requirements as first-time freshmen, with additional supporting documents from an accredited GED program of studies that has been recognized by the State Board of Education.
