An Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is a device that automatically analyzes the heart rhythm and, if it detects a problem that may respond to an electrical shock, that permits a shock to be delivered to restore a normal heart rhythm. These units are relatively simple to use; the instructions are in the cabinet.  The AED is located in the central hallway just outside the cafeteria, Hurricane Café, on the wall near the restroom.
