Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association is the voice of the student body and includes all University students as members. SGA provides avenues for open dialogue between the students and staff, faculty and administration to collaboratively enhance and improve the campus community. SGA also hosts programs and events each semester designed to help students get engaged and connected outside of the classroom.

2023-24 Application for Executive Office 

Requirements for Executive Office as Stated in the SGA Constitution:

Office of President: Completion of one-year as a full-time UHC student (as specified by program), 3.0 GPA, in “Good-Standing” as defined by the University (undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply). 

All other Positions: Full-time student at UHC (as specified by program), 2.5 GPA, in “Good-Standing” as defined by the University (undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply). If an applicant is Freshman or a newly enrolled graduate student, previous GPA should be used for qualifying. 

  1. Monday, September 25th – Applications Due by 5 PM 
  2. Wednesday, September 27th– Announcement of Candidates 
  3. Thursday, September 28th – Wednesday, October 4th – Campaign Period 
  4. Monday, October 2nd – Candidate Bio + Campaign Video Due (Must be submitted in order to appear on the ballot) 
  5. Thursday, October 5th –  Tuesday, October 10th - Electronic Voting Period 
  6. Friday, October 13th – SGA Officers Announced 

**Any qualifications above can be negated at the request or approval of the Co-Moderators. If you would like to run for office but do not meet a certain qualification, please send an email to rbriscoe@uhcno.edu.
